STORYLINE
“Oldboy” is a South Korean action-thriller film released in 2003. It was directed by Park Chan-wook and is based on the Japanese manga of the same name. The film follows the story of Oh Dae-su, a man who is imprisoned in a hotel room for 15 years without knowing why. When he is suddenly released, he embarks on a mission to find out who imprisoned him and why, and becomes embroiled in a web of violence and intrigue. “Oldboy” received critical acclaim for its storytelling, direction, and performances, and is widely considered a classic of Korean cinema. It has also been remade in several other countries, including the United States.
