STORYLINE
Missing 9 is a South Korean television drama series that aired on MBC from January 18 to March 9, 2017. The storyline revolves around a plane carrying 47 people, including seven of South Korea’s most famous celebrities, that crashes into an island during a flight to China. Only 12 people survived the crash, and one of them is stylist Ra Bong Hee, who suffers from memory loss and cannot remember anything about the crash. Bong Hee is forced to remember and retell the story of the other eight passengers’ disappearance to silence the public’s tumult. The drama uses dual storytelling of the timeline of the plane crash, the past of the idols, and the present in which the one survivor is trying to piece her memory together. The first nine episodes are said to be the most awesome part of the drama, with a good balance of fear and humor. The drama features Baek Jin-hee and Jung Kyung-ho as the lead actors. The early working name of the drama was “Picnic”. The drama was created by Han Jung-hoon, written by Son Hwang-won, and directed by Choi Byung-gil. It is a mix of disaster, suspense, mystery, comedy, drama, and romance genres. The drama has a total of 16 episodes and two special episodes.
